About Us

Scarlet has 21 years experience as a Licensed Clinical Counselor Supervisor and owner of Building Blocks Counseling Center. Scarlet provides services to individuals, couples, and family counseling. She specializes in treating Major Depressive Disorder, Anxiety, and Panic Disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome, Eating Disorders, Domestic Violence, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorders. Her passion is helping people overcome life challenges and seeing people living to their fullest potential. Scarlet offers extensive experience in couples counseling, family counseling, pre-marital counseling, and treating high-functioning Autism spectrum disorder.

Building Blocks Counseling Center's strength lies in our professional and caring staff. Our staff consists of Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors, Master's Level. Each Staff member is trained to treat general problems such as anxiety and depression. In addition, all staff members have extensive training and experience in their respective specialties. We can provide faith-based counseling, but we are not affiliated with any particular religious organization or denomination. All Building Blocks counselors are member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), and each member has a current license issued by the state of Ohio.

Katie Fortunato

MA / LPC

Katie provides individual, couples, and family counseling. She has a passion for working with children, adolescence, and young adults. Her hopes are to help individuals reach their goals through helping them obtain a positive self image and learning new tools to overcome their barriers. She tries to build hope in the individual and help them see happiness is possible. She works hard to get to know the individual and their worldview. She utilizes a combination of evidence-based practices and therapy modalities to find the right fit for the individual. She specializes in treating Major Depressive Disorder, Anxiety-Related Disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Joshua Weinreb

MS / LPCC

Joshua Weinreb started practicing mental health counseling treating children and adolescents with anxiety and depression. He soon became passionate about helping individuals and families in their desire to close the gap between where they are right now and where they want to be in the future. Joshua uses a combination of evidence based treatments, including cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness-based stress reduction. He has professional interest in working with men and male youth in their pursuit to better themselves, by increasing understanding in gender specific social and mental health issues. Joshua treats children, adolescents and adults of all ages and has experience and training in treating individuals, families and couples.

Diane Moreno Zerby

LISWS

Diane is a licensed clinical social worker in Ohio who has worked with people on a wide range of concerns, to include, but not limited to depression and anxiety, aging, coping with life changes, and ADHD. She has also worked with ministers and their families addressing these issues, as well as some of the unique circumstances they experience. Diane has 30+ years of experience working with people 12 to 90+ years of age who have come from different socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. She has worked in both rural and urban areas and has worked in a variety of settings, providing both inpatient and outpatient care. The COVID-19 pandemic, social unrest, environmental crisis, and other current issues have many struggling with uncertainty, fear, and anxiety. She believes strongly in inclusivity and that we all have strengths we can build upon. She uses a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), practical approach so that together we can address these and other challenges you may be experiencing. Diane welcomes the opportunity to connect with you, learn your story, and assist you in untangling situations you may be facing, and empower you to make positive changes in your life.
